Renovation in The North Yorkshire Moors.
Full property renovation completed in Castleton. This property was originally two houses, the garage was also integrated to create one spacious home. The original layout of the property was unusual so it was fully redesigned to make better use of the space. All original floors were dug out leaving space for a subfloor, kingspan and undefloor heating embedded in liquid screed before being fully tiled throughout. The old fireplace was removed to make way for the new kitchen which was hand built and installed by Gibsons Cabinet Makers. Steel beams were installed and an extension built, a fully glazed roof was installed over the extension by Oceansafe. The old garage was converted into a music room finished with acoustic panelling and hidden cupboards, the Velux windows in here flood the room with light. J Hallam Joinery supplied bespoke oak steps which were installed by our joiner. The gable end was previously rendered in cement which was causing damp so this was removed and replaced with a hot lime mortar render which will allow breathability for years to come. The driveway was block paved recplaing the gravel at a lower level complete with aco channels which will prevent damp by allowing the water to run away from the house. A low roof with a small balcony was replaced with a larger balcony fitted with Velux electric rooflights. All the heating and plumbing was completed by Whitby Boiler Care. The property was fully rewired with all new electrics by our electrician and carefully decorated throughout by our in house decorator. The sauna which can be seen in the project gallery was installed by the owner upon completion of this renovation adding to the high end finish and attention to detail. This is a renovation we are really proud to have worked on and it was used as part of our bi-annual assessment from the Federation of Master Builders.
